Science Behind: Colors

Is my red your red? Do we see colors the same? Well, the way we see color is pretty complicated.

Due to photoreceptor cells in the retinas of our eyes, our brains are sent a signal to determine what color we see. Rods within our eyes allow us to detect low light in varying shades of gray, while to see color cone cells and bright lights are needed.

Light is a range of electromagnetic activity that depends on the length and intensity of the rays that meet our eyes and pass through the parts of the eye mentioned above. Darkness truly is just the absence of any color at all.
