Wolf Supermoon
On January 3rd, 2026, the moon will be the largest and brightest it will be all year, as its near its closest point to Earth. The peak of the wolf moon will occur around 5:00am on that Saturday, but should be visible well into Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.
The term “Wolf Moon” stems from Native American and European traditions, as the winter was the time of year in which wolves could be heard howling outside villages. While this has been scientifically explained (pure pack instincts), it is still attached to the “super moon” or “wolf moon” to this day.
Spiritually, the ‘wolf moon’ is meant to represent the connection to your own pack, be it your family and/or friends. The timing coincides with the new year, a reminder to be connected and find your community with the incoming of a new chapter. Maybe, with the wolf moon, call up a friend or a loved one just to talk, or give extra love to your dog.
Now, if you’re looking to see the moon you will need to follow these steps: an unobstructed view of the sky, in the best case, the moon will be near the horizon, and look west.
Have fun!
